Who I am and why I can help
My name is Shaun Smith and I am a personal trainer here in Bournemouth.
My goal at SSP is to provide you with the best opportunity and advice to help you be successful in the area of health and fitness that you are looking for.
With a passion for resistance training and nutritional planning from an early age I aim to confidently guide you through the methods I have used to reach your goals (building muscle, weight loss, fitness) effectively and safely whilst keeping it as interesting for you as possible.
With over 20 years personal experience in implementing exercise technique and nutritional planning to optimise physical performance I have been able to take myself on the path to play professional American football in various countries around the world including the USA where I was a linebacker for the Carolina Panthers in the National Football League.
I have also spent 2 years of my life competing at a regional and national level in mens physique competition where the goal is to achieve a very high level of physical condition through dieting, weight training and cardiovascular exercise alike.
Without the knowledge and skills gained through years of studying exercise physiology and nutrition I would never have reached such heights in my career.
As a registered personal trainer with an advanced diploma qualification, I am confident in my ability to put you in the position to successful in your individual fitness journey.
As a Bournemouth based personal trainer on the south coast of England I am very fortunate to live in an extremely beautiful part of the world to perform my personal training sessions either in the gym or outside in many of our beautiful parks or on our sandy beaches here in the Bournemouth area.

The benefits of having a higher muscle mass. Aside from the most obvious function of allowing us to move freely and perform everyday tasks, muscles play a pivotal role in boosting our metabolism and immune systems, as well as increasing bone strength and aiding weight loss.
You don’t have to lose hundreds of pounds to enjoy the medical benefits of weight loss. If you are currently overweight or obese, you may be able to lose just a small amount of weight to improve your overall health. In fact, some studies show that just a 5 to 10 percent decrease.
It builds up your strength and pumps blood around your body, improving the flow of nutrients in and waste products out. It improves your posture and stamina and is often more effective than dieting at helping you to lose weight. But regular exercise brings much more than physical benefits.
